Close to 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the area, generating strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Extensive Impact
Residents witnessed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that various areas across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews activated to handle the extensive power failures.
Victorian Storm Challenges
At the same time, around 1,000 households in Victoria also experienced energy failures after the metropolitan area saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations responded to over five hundred calls for help across the area, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

- Wyndham region - 179 emergency requests
At one point on the previous day, over twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.

Medical authorities warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
