Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a significant and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
Officials reported debris fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
